Why is the story free?

It's more or less a publicity stunt. I want to see if I can get this story read by as many people as I can. But also it's not a bout something I think mainstream publishers will touch. And to be most effective, I made it free. But please visit the various affiliates to help me out.

If it's a stunt, is this all there is?

No. About once a month or so I'm going to try to have another piece of some type written, though it might be poetry, or fantasy, or science fiction, mystery, or something else. (read between 1 month and 3 months.)

So what is the story?

It's a science fiction story in the distant future with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor. I think you'll like it.

I can't get it to open. I think there's something wrong with your site

I personally tested it on at least four different types of computers, it's not a problem with the file. Just click on it to open it.

Do you take checks?

I don't have a merchant account and I don't have a company bank or checking account, so I can't cash checks made out to the company.  Make them out to me, Samuel Plahetka.

Why are you publishing electronically?

Some publishing companies have very strict ideas of what should be published, and I have a novel I have been working on for a long time that I doubt mainstream publishers would touch. Also, I'm not really a poet and I don't want to be known as one in the paper world, and as of yet the paper publishers don't acknowledge the electronic publishers as real publishers, and that goes double for a self-publisher.
